  1. Well done on a fun first show, I enjoyed Millennium, even though you just knew that few, if any, of the secret Manhunter agent retcons would stick as soon as we got the business with Lana Lang… No way!

Ian Gibson must have been very annoying to work with back then, I wonder whether he mellowed.

I love the attention you’re paying to who did the lettering on covers and the like. I devoured Todd Klein blog entries on logo creation.

It may be worth mentioning what something like duo-shade board is when it came up (‘a failed experiment’ would do...).

As regards some of the stuff Steve Englehart was coming up with back then, New Age bollocks indeed.

I only know E Man from First Comics, they were OK comics but I couldn’t see why the characters apparently had cult status.

I’m a big Joe Staton booster, but It WAS partly his fault that the Legion issues he worked on were awful, it’s probably the worst art I’ve seen from him, so loose as to lean towards slapdash, with apparently little thought as to composition... I can see why he didn’t get the big gigs at Marvel. Check out, for example, Superboy #249, it’s painful. Staton got much better down the years.

I’d listen to a Sondheim podcast. You could call it Multitude of Opinions
